As crowds, of mainly females intersperse with five year olds who could not no the true power of independent women, sat slightly nervously in their seats; the lights go down and a badly, unrehearsed support act strolls on the stage and gets NO reaction from the crowd because they all have one thing on their minds "is this concert going to be as bad as I've heard?. If so shall I go home now?"
The awful start to the show by their support act does nothing to ease the mind. About 40minites later the lights go down again screams of "DESTINY'S CHILD!!!!" erupt from the crowd and the curtain goes up.
For the next, nearly two, hours the whole of the stadium is on their feet, shaking booty, screaming and waving.
The show opened to “Say my name,” and boy was it good. Beyonce centre stage bellowing out "know the other day, I would call, you would say," and from that moment I somehow breathed a sigh of relief. This is what I'd come to see, just like I had at the last world tour - Destiny's Child
So one went the set list, an array of beautiful costumes and amazing lighting, Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle belting out “Bug-a-boo“, “Jumpin' Jumpin'“, “Independent Women” , “Girl” , “Soldier” (amazing), “Through with love” and many more.
Then came the solo outings Beyonce, as to be expected, wowed the crowd with “Baby Boy” , “Naughty Girl” , “Dangerously in Love” and the classic, “Crazy in Love“. Michelle did a tear- jerking performance of “Do you know?” and then came Kelly with a bad rendition of “Dilemma“, badly mixed and staged but not badly sung.
Then they performed a Mexican-themed version of “Survivor” which even got the fathers of those five year olds on their feet with the fists in the air.
To close “Lose my breathe” was pumped out of the stereo, this was what Destiny's Child is all about: power, independence and booty shaking.
My only criticism has got to be the awful PA. At some points the sound blended in too much and was overpowered by too much bass.
But you've got to hand it to these ladies after releasing their worst Album to date they chose to perform "the best of Destiny's Child" and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. When the curtain went down I realised what I had just witnessed.
