Destiny's Child hit the music scene in 1997 when the members were 16.
The group sold more than 40 million records and has graced the covers of almost every music and fashion magazine.
They've broken up.
They've switched members.
They've gone solo and then gotten back together.
But according to their last album, Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle's destiny is fulfilled.
The R&B trio has called it quits and made its last appearance in Washington as a group last weekend at the MCI Center.
The show, which also featured Virginia native Tyra and young crooner Mario, was everything I could want in a concert.
I clapped, I danced and I screamed.
I nearly cried from laughing as the girls picked three guys from the audience to dance with onstage as they performed their latest single "Cater 2 U."
One could only imagine what was going through the guys' heads as they each got a lap dance from the ladies. One of the guys, Tim, was so star-struck, he could hardly remember his own name when asked.
DC's act started with snippets from their first three albums. They were dolled up in outfits from Beyonce's new clothing line as they sang their classic hits "No, No, No," "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Bootylicious," among others. The males in the crowd definitely got their share of eye candy.
Then the females in the packed audience went wild as a gang of supercute, muscle-bound and shirtless hotties danced to the song "Soldier."
The three girls each got stage time to perform music from their solo projects, which included Kelly's "Dilemma" and Beyonce's "Crazy in Love."
Michelle singing "Do You Know" from her gospel album really caught me off guard.
Although Kelly and Beyonce get the most microphone time, Michelle can really, really sing. She held her own and proved to the crowd that she deserves to be in the top-selling girl group of all time.
DC ended its show with a Latin version of "Survivor" and a hot dance-off to "Lose My Breath."
These girls are the epitome of entertainment, style and beauty. It's kind of sad that they're breaking up.
And even if you don't like Destiny's Child, you have to respect them. The group's last tour in the area was phenomenal.
I couldn't keep up. They made me lose my breath.
